Every child belongs in nature
We help make it happen
Belonging begins here.
Every outdoor space has the potential to welcome more children than it currently does. Often the difference isn’t the trail, the equipment, or the program—it’s whether someone nearby understands how to support a child who experiences the world differently.
Why Branch Outdoors?
The Reality
Nearly 1 in 11 children has a diagnosed developmental disability. Many of them can walk the trail, however most adults around them haven’t been trained in how to support, include, and guide them.
The Problem
Existing disability inclusion training is built for classrooms and clinics. There is no scalable, nature-specific professional development for park staff, naturalists, and outdoor educators.
The Solution
Branch Outdoors changes that. The Certified Inclusive Outdoor Practitioner (CIOP) is the first nature-specific inclusion certification for the outdoor education workforce.
"It made me cry when they came home and showed me pictures. I'm so thankful for the opportunity for him to do things he otherwise might not be a part of."
